I HAVE TREATED MY PET BUT WE STILL HAVE FLEAS. WHY?

Because the adult fleas on your pet are only about five per cent of the problem. The rest are eggs, larvae and pupae in carpet, bedding, floor cracks and shaded soil outside. Pupae can lie dormant for weeks, so treating the pet alone leaves the environment loaded and ready to re-infest.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE A FLEA TREATMENT?

Vacuum carpets, rugs and floor edges thoroughly, wash all pet bedding on a hot cycle, and clear floor clutter so we can treat the edges and under furniture. Arrange your pet's veterinary treatment for the same day, and vacuum again a few days later to stimulate remaining pupae to hatch into the treated area.

CAN I HAVE FLEAS WITHOUT OWNING ANY PETS?

You can. Fleas arrive on visiting cats and dogs, on wildlife such as possums and rodents nesting in the roof, or they are simply left behind by a previous occupant's pets. If you have bites around the ankles and no animals, a rodent or possum problem in the roof is worth ruling out.
